How to get there

COMING FROM RIO DE JANEIRO OR SÃO PAULO:
after entering Tiradentes cloverleaf you will find the train station, then you will cross the bridge over Mortes river and, soon after, you’ll get to a small square with a gas station. There you turn right and go by Bichinho road (Estrada do Bichinho). You’ll go up 1800 metres until Empório Patrícia Barbosa and then you’ll turn left, following the indicative plate “Fazenda do Colégio/Calçada São José”. Here you go down more 1800 metres by a bucolic dirt road, from where you can see São José mountain at the back, with indicative plates all over the way. Welcome.

COMING FROM BELO HORIZONTE:
by the old estrada real (royal road): you will arrive at Largo das Forras (Tiradentes historical center), by-pass it, and go towards a small square with a gas station. Here you turn left to get to Bichinho road. Now you go up 1800 metres until Empório Patrícia Barbosa and turn left, following the indicative plate “Fazenda do Colégio/Calçada São José”. Now you go down more 1800 metres by a bucolic dirt road, from where you can see São José mountain at the back, with indicative plates throughout the way. Welcome.

NOTE: there is a footstep trail that connects Calçada São José resting place to Tiradentes historical center, a 1800 meters walk, by the small waterfall way.
